I had the joy of photographing the birth of a very special family. Not only did mom have to work so hard, but so did her support team. They were strong and determined and just amazing. I felt so honored to be a part of it.

My favorite part about this birth, though, was the music. Mom was playing praise music. She would sing her heart out through the contractions, with her sister joining in. Admittedly, I sang too. How could you not! I think I had cried at least three times within the first hour of arriving. Such joy and emotion. It was beautiful.

I got a call yesterday evening saying that this mama was in early labor, but she kindly waited until this morning to call anyone to come. Yeah for a full night's sleep! She was absolutely stunning. She was totally calm and peaceful and did wonderfully. Her support team (awesome hubby, a great doula, and two outstanding midwives) were there by her side thru it all and she just did great.

We were all excited to find out that it was a boy! One of the cutest moments though is when his big sister comes in the meet him and someone asks her what she thinks of her new brother and she replies, "I have a big nose." LOL! I think it was followed with a comment on how little his nose was, but no one heard it over the laughter. Gotta love the thoughts of a two year old. Ok, now the good stuff!!

This is one of my favs of the whole birth. He literally came out, went on mom's chest, lifted up his head, and looked at mom and dad. AMAZING. I love homebirth. Sigh.

{Almost Perfect} Dallas- Downtown- Baylor Dallas Birth Photographer

I had the joy of attending this beautiful birth last weekend. Mom used Hypnobabies (check out Katherine's classes) and was so beautiful and relaxed. She did an amazing job and she had a ROCKIN' support team. Despite not getting to use her birthing tub, she had a beautiful and natural birth. Thanks for letting me be there you guys!

{A primal birth} Dallas- Uptown- Downtown Birth Photographer

Primal is the absolute best way to describe this birth. Not only is mom stunningly beautiful, but she was so full of life and expression during her labor and birth. Seriously, she is a birth photographers dream! Not only was she in serious labor, but she was laughing inbetween contractions. Her first birth was really short, so when I got the call, I flew out the door and drove down Dallas. Got there with a short hour to spare. And was greatly rewarded with a beautiful birth. Enjoy!

This beautiful family has been waiting WAY too long for their sneak peaks. Good thing they love me! ;) So rather than drag this out, this is a double post. I attended their birth (back in OCTOBER!!!) and then followed up with their newborn session. I know the birth did not go the way they had hoped, but they were an amazing team and worked very hard to bring this gorgeous girl into this world. It was an honor to be there. Enjoy you guys and I am grateful to be a part of your lives!
