About EMP...

Earth Mama Photography is dedicated to capturing those memories so they last forever. I specialize in birth photography, but also love portraiture for your pregnancy, newborn or family. I try to use natural light and shoot on location. This allows my canvas to be the beauty of the world around you. I try to achieve whatever look you may be hoping for, making each portrait a cherished keepsake, unique and inspired. EMP only offers digital packages, allowing you the ability to show your photos to friends and family online.

Elizabeth Boyce is a mom to four beautiful children and has had a camera in her hands since her oldest was very young. She began photographing births for her doula clients about 4 years ago, before it was even popular! After many requests, she expanded into portraiture. She can't decide what she loves the most. Birth photography is photojournalistic and tells the story of a miracle. Portraiture captures a unique moment that may never happen again. Each is special in it's own way and make her better at what she does... capturing your memories.

If only you could see my assistant, Stephanie, off to the side. She was posed on the fence on one foot. She rocks! So do our subjects... not sure I could have gotten on the fence at all!

One of my favs... our teenager jumping for joy because she was so excited to have me take her photos. Ok, MAYBE it was because we paid her to do it. WHAT?!?! Bribery totally works ;) No honestly, she was one of the best teens I have worked with. She should share her secret!

{Everyone} Dallas- Irving- Highland Park Family Photographer

I adore this family. I was there for the birth of their youngest son and we have been intending to get together again for family pictures and finally had a chance. They have just stunning children and are such a kind family. The love is very evident. This time we had Grandma and Grandpa, and uncle and a cousin join in the fun! Enjoy guys and I am so glad we could work it out with such tight schedules!

This one was so funny. I was talking to this little man and I said, "Was I the first ever to take your picture?" and he stuck his neck out and gave me the BIGGEST smile ever. Talk about melting my heart!

ssfamily_10_31_09-349

Little miss who decided she would not smile for a picture. I had to hang off the cliff to get this one!

{A fun spot} Plano- Allen- Wylie Family Photographer

We headed to Allen to an outdoor shopping mall for this session. I wasn't sure how well it would work out, but I loved it! We did have some REALLY close calls with the sprinklers. It was almost like someone was watching us and having a good laugh. But we managed to stay dry and get some great pictures. We had grandma and grandpa, their two daughters and their hubbys, and two grandbabies. It was so fun!

The whole family-

The sweetest boys... I wish my kiddos lived closer to their cousins. It is so much fun!

And this image I had to include so you could all here the story of what happened when I got home with this picture. I was going through our session and was looking at this one when my 5 yr old wandered over. This is how the conversation went from there...
Zach: "Ummm, is that a duck?"
Me: "Yep!"
Zach: "What is wrong with that baby! Is he just TRYING to be mean!"
Me: Laughing uncontrollably
Zach: (dirty look) "That duck isn't real, is it. Ugh. Don't tell anyone about this, mom." (walks away)
It was so funny. He was seriously worried about that duck. My guess is that the look on the duck's face contributed to the misunderstanding. I laughed, though. OH!

{The Whole Family} Plano- Dallas- McKinney Family Photographer

I love this little (maybe not so little?) family! We have tried to schedule this session for awhile and I am so glad the weather held for us and we were able to finally do it. It was so much fun, and as Chris, age 9 says, "This is WAY better than standing in front of a black sheet and setting the timer on the camera!" LOL! I tried to keep a straight face, but it was a challenge. Either way, the sun was shining, the kids were in a great mode and we even ended the session with a very wet and dirty romp in the creek. Another sucessful session!

{A Crazy Crew} Plano- Dallas- McKinney Family Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting up with this family on Friday evening. We had planned to go to Haggard park, so imagine our surprise when we arrived to find a big band and crowds celebrating the 4th of July! We relocated quickly and were able to get in some family pictures before the light dimmed. We had quite the list of pictures as we did all the extended family as well, but the kiddos were just too cute, that those ended up being my sneak peaks. Rest assured, images of everyone are coming! LOL! Enjoy!

Ice Cream, Football, and Family

I had a great family session this last weekend with one of my best friends. It was a blast. She was so great at just letting her kids be themselves. We played around down at the Harbor in Rockwall on a sunny afternoon. The kids wrestled and messed around and then we let them get ice cream. The only thing I made them do was get the little girls cones, because it is so much cuter in pictures! So these photos are a big jumple of different things. I hope you enjoy your sneak peaks! Thanks for being so great!

A fun bunch of kiddos...

I had a session on Saturday morning with a really great family. They happen to be good friends, so I really didn't want to miss it. I got home from my birth and into bed around 4am and was back up and ready to go at it again in 4 short hours. We ended up going to the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve and did about a 2mi loop. Let me tell you... I was exhausted.

However, I was pleased as punch to come home and see what I captured. We just did the kiddos this go round. They were absolutely great. Even "S" the teen put up with my antics. Their outfits just called out for black and white images, so the sneak peaks are heavy in that area.

Our shoot covered just about everything...
Naps...

Jumping off things...
Admiring a cute baby...
Sister smooches...
Goofing around... and btw, this is what most EMP sessions look like. Don't be fooled by all the well posed and smiling portraits of children!
Sitting on rocks, sunbathing...
Baby bits, ofcourse...
And walking. Lots of walking. This one was slightly posed, but they naturally would fall into birth order as they hiked through the preserve, just like this one. It was great!
So guys, enjoy! There is lots more to come. I am slowly digging myself out from the mounds of photos I have to edit!

A perfect Fall day for photos...

We hit Pranther Park again this morning and it was a perfect fall day! Crisp, cool, and the fall colors were popping! I had a blast with this fabulous family. The kiddos were great and even our little pink runaway hammed it up in front of the camera. I had blast guys, THANKS!
